What Is Candle Time Run Bot?

Candle Time Run Bot is a custom XAUUSD Expert Advisor created with BYO-Bot. It began with the Aurora Channel Breakout template, but its original entry was replaced with the Candle Color Run module.

The entry logic looks for a qualifying sequence of completed bullish or bearish candles. The detailed run length, candle-body requirements and other strategy parameters remain configurable through the exported EA inputs.

A drawdown-control module was added to monitor account equity and restrict further trading when its configured protection condition is reached. The result is a different strategy built from the Aurora structure rather than a simple copy of the original template.

How the MT5 Expert Advisor Was Built

1. Select Aurora

The Aurora Channel Breakout template provides the initial strategy structure and editable trade-management settings.

2. Change the Entry

The default channel-breakout entry is replaced with Candle Color Run, evaluated on the H1 timeframe.

3. Add Protection

Drawdown control is added as a protection module and its detailed limits are configured in the settings section.

4. Test and Export

After a successful visual test, BYO-Bot exports the MQ5 source and matching settings for MetaTrader 5.

No manual coding was required inside BYO-Bot: the strategy was assembled through the graphical interface. MetaEditor 5 was then used to compile the exported MQ5 source into an EX5 trading program.

From MQ5 Source Code to a Working MT5 EA

  1. Complete a successful visual test inside BYO-Bot.
  2. Open the Export Source step and enter the bot name and identification details.
  3. Export the MQ5 source file and matching SET configuration.
  4. Open the MQ5 file in MetaEditor 5.
  5. Compile the source and confirm that no compile errors remain.
  6. Open MetaTrader 5 and run an independent Strategy Tester backtest.
Important: BYO-Bot’s visual test is a development estimate. The exported EA should always be tested again inside MetaTrader 5 using realistic broker data, spread, commission, slippage, leverage and symbol specifications.

Candle Time Run Bot Backtest Results

Two MT5 test views are included below: a longer historical test and a focused six-month test covering March through August 2026. The six-month period is then compared with Quantum Queen X.

These screenshots demonstrate how the exported bot behaved under the displayed historical conditions. They do not establish what the strategy will do in a live account.

The longer test produced 28,203 trades and an 88.67% reported win rate. Its 2.26 profit factor indicates that gross historical profit exceeded gross historical loss in the displayed simulation.

Maximum equity drawdown was reported as 11.60%, with a recovery factor of 8.13. However, the exceptionally large reported profit and high trading frequency should be treated as reasons for further validation rather than as a live-performance forecast.

Candle Time Run Bot vs Quantum Queen X

For additional context, Candle Time Run Bot was compared with Quantum Queen X over the same March–August 2026 market period.

This is not a controlled ranking. The bots used different starting deposits, timeframes, lot-sizing behaviour and trade frequencies. Consequently, raw net profit cannot be treated as a like-for-like measure of which bot is “better.”

Six-month historical comparison. The tests used different deposits, timeframes, position sizing and trading frequency.

What the Six-Month Comparison Shows

Candle Time Run Bot

  • Higher reported win rate: 88.24%.
  • Lower maximum equity drawdown: 8.02%.
  • Higher recovery factor: 12.84.
  • Much higher trading frequency: 23,185 trades.

Quantum Queen X

  • Higher profit factor: 4.55.
  • Higher Sharpe ratio: 22.92.
  • Far fewer trades: 420.
  • Maximum equity drawdown reached 69.02%.
Do not compare net profit alone: Candle Time Run Bot began with five times the initial deposit, operated on H1 rather than M1 and opened far more trades. A fair comparison would require matching the deposit, risk per trade, timeframe, broker conditions, trading costs and test settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Candle Time Run Bot the same as BYO-Bot?

No. BYO-Bot is the Windows strategy-building software. Candle Time Run Bot is one Expert Advisor created and exported using BYO-Bot.

What entry signal does Candle Time Run Bot use?

It uses the Candle Color Run module, which evaluates qualifying sequences of completed bullish or bearish candles. The displayed project uses H1 as its signal timeframe.

Does BYO-Bot require programming knowledge?

The strategy can be assembled, configured and visually tested without manually writing code. The exported MQ5 file must still be compiled in MetaEditor 5 before it becomes an EX5 Expert Advisor for MT5.

Do these backtests guarantee live profits?

No. Backtests are historical simulations. Live performance can differ because of spreads, commission, slippage, latency, data quality, leverage, broker execution and future market conditions.

Can I try BYO-Bot before purchasing?

Yes. The Windows trial allows users to explore the builder and visual testing workflow. Trial source export is limited to the fixed sample bot.

Final Verdict

This project demonstrates the main advantage of BYO-Bot: a supplied template can be used as a starting structure and then changed into a substantially different MT5 strategy.

Replacing Aurora’s entry with Candle Color Run and adding drawdown control produced a compilable XAUUSD Expert Advisor with its own trading behaviour. The longer and six-month reports show promising historical figures, but the extreme growth and high trade count also make independent validation essential.

Conclusion: Candle Time Run Bot is a practical demonstration of building an MT5 EA without manually coding the strategy from the beginning. Its backtests should be treated as research evidence—not as a promise of live returns.

Risk Disclaimer

Trading foreign exchange, gold and CFDs involves substantial risk and may not be suitable for every trader. Backtests are historical simulations, not live-account guarantees. Spreads, commissions, slippage, broker execution, leverage, data quality and settings can materially change every result. Use demo testing and position sizes you can afford to risk.
